Meet the Coaches

Hi, I’m Coach Dev! I’m a proud Faculty of Kinesiology alum with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and Community Development. As a certified personal trainer, group fitness coach, and distance runner, I’m passionate about helping others discover the joy and strength that comes from movement.

Fitness hasn’t always been a priority or a source of enjoyment for me. Growing up, I struggled with it. Though I played sports, I also faced an unhealthy relationship with food and felt judged for not fitting the “ideal” athlete body type, especially as a girl or woman.

My journey hasn’t been linear. If you’d asked me five years ago where I’d be, I never would have imagined myself as a coach, mentor, or someone dedicated to inspiring and motivating others.

The passion I now have for health, wellness, and physical activity has grown over time. It’s been a rollercoaster of trial and error—learning from mistakes, listening to my body, and understanding the importance of proper nutrition, rest, and balance. I’ve learned to fuel my body, avoid overtraining, and prioritize recovery, knowing these are essential for both mental and physical health.

I advocate for movement that challenges YOU to grow stronger—mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Is it hard? Yes. But I won’t promise it’ll be easy. True growth comes from embracing challenges.

I’m here for you and for this community, ready to support you every step of the way. Let’s push boundaries and achieve greatness together!

Hi! My name is Sarah, and while I wear many hats, one of my favorites is helping others discover their love for movement and nutrition. With a background in Social Work and over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, I bring a unique blend of skills and personal experience to my coaching practice.

I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, from lifestyle coaching to guiding runners through distances from 5K to ultra marathons. One thing you’ll never see me do? Post before-and-after photos of people’s bodies. I firmly believe our worth is not tied to our physical appearance, and I refuse to use my body—or yours—as a business card.

I’ve experienced it all:

  • Being a new mom (twice!) navigating postpartum changes and hormonal shifts.

  • Struggling with extreme overweight and unhealthy habits.

  • Being lean but unhealthy, with disordered eating and exercise patterns.

  • Everything in between.

As someone who grew up in the '90s, I’ve spent years unpacking the toxic influences of diet culture. I know firsthand the struggles of body image issues, addictions, and unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. Chasing the elusive “perfect” body left me miserable, trapped in a cycle of anxiety and social isolation due to food-related fears.

Fast forward to today:
I’m no longer the leanest I’ve ever been, but I am the strongest. I’ve completed countless half marathons, four full marathons—including the Chicago Marathon in 2023—and I teach group fitness classes weekly. More importantly, I’ve broken free from the scale’s grip and can keep up with my two busy boys with ease.

I’ve learned to embrace my curves and powerful legs, appreciating what my body can do rather than trying to shrink it. As a mid- to large-sized personal trainer and running coach, I’m passionate about breaking the stigma of what “fitness” should look like. Your body’s size doesn’t define your worth or fitness level. It’s time to stop living in fear and start celebrating your body’s capabilities!

What I Offer:

  • Run Coaching: From 5K to ultra-marathons.

  • Lifestyle Coaching: Tailored to your goals, whether at the gym or at home.

  • Nutrition Coaching: Helping you fuel your body and feel your best.

  •

I’ll be your biggest and loudest cheerleader, always. Let’s work together to unlock your potential and celebrate your strength!
